Lara Bay, Cyprus

The Lara Bay in Cyprus — or «the turtle beach» — is a huge secluded and pristine beach, located in the western part of the island. It is set in a sheltered bay, where you can only get by the off-road car.

A quiet spot almost devoid of people, it is a perfect refuge for the Green and Loggerhead sea turtle. During the summer, you will be able to see the turtles that come to the beach to lay their eggs. Special cages or warning signs about the position of the eggs can also be found.

Welcome to the solitary paradise with clean water and golden sand! Here you will not find any shops and restaurants nearby, so you will have to take water, food, and towels with you. Please mind that this is a protected area, so setting up umbrellas, sunbeds, or tents, as well as staying on the beach during the night is forbidden.

The beach is definitely worth a visit, especially if you want to relax in peace in the unspoiled nature.
