Leipzig Hauptbahnhof

Developed and built in 1915 by the Saxon architects, the Hauptbahnhof of Leipzig is among the most beautiful and the largest railway stations in the Old World. It is situated in the center of Leipzig on Willy-Brandt-Platz. There is a huge shopping center that is called BAHNHOFS-Promenaden.

The great Railway Hub

About 1300 trains are passing through the Leipzig Bahnhof every day, runnning around Germany and many European cities. The inter-city services to Dresden and Berlin are among the most frequent: the directions are very popular and the travel time takes just a little bit more than 1 hour. There are the high-speed trains travel to the city of Hamburg, as well as Paris and Amsterdam, and many other European destinations. How to get to the airport

If you need to get to the Leipzig Airport from the central railway station, you can use the S-Bahn train that leaves from the underground platform 2, or go on the intercity train, and in 20 minutes, you will be at the airport. Usually, the trains run two or three times per hour, but be attentive, that during public holidays and early mornings, there is one train per hour to the Halle Airport.
