How to set up Children categories by age
Children categories is an option that allows you to set different hotel rates for children of various ages. If your property has different rates for children based on age, it's important to set this up in the system to ensure accurate pricing.
Follow these steps to create age-based categories for children:
- Select the Room Rates module from the menu on the left and click on Settings.
- Go to the Check-in & Age tab
- Select Yes for the question "Are there different room rates for children than for adults?"
- Click the “+” button in the newly appeared field to add categories based on the number of age ranges you need.
- In the Age from field, add the minimum age of children that belong to this category. In the Age to field, add the maximum age of children that belong to this category.
- Click Save.
The screenshot shows the following example with three age categories for children: children from 0 to 2 years old, from 3 to 12 years old, and from 13 to 17 years old. This way, when setting prices, you can specify the cost of accommodation based on the child's age category.
