Product Updates v. 4.6.0: Partial invoice payment feature and more options for group bookings

Our latest release offers greater control and flexibility in handling reservations and invoices. Read on to discover the new and user-friendly features that you can now use in your daily work.

What’s new for hoteliers?

1. Introducing "Create Invoice" checkbox for group reservations

We've added a convenient "Create Invoice" checkbox feature intended for group reservations. This checkbox is initially left unchecked.

If the "Create Invoice" checkbox is selected, the system will automatically generate an invoice for all items added through the "Add package booking" or "Add booking" modal windows that have not been previously invoiced.

Note that cancellation fees are not automatically included in the invoice. This grants you the flexibility to manually include cancellation fees in your invoices for large groups as you see fit.

2. Partial invoice payment option now available

We have also enabled a feature for your guests to make partial payments towards their invoices. With the HotelFriend system, guests can now pay for specific items or services first and cover the rest of their invoice at a later time.

This gives guests more flexibility in handling their payments. The system will adjust the reservation balance accordingly to reflect the remaining amount.

In line with this, prepayment details will now also be visible in the guest's reservation card.

3. Add packages and deals to any group booking

In this update, we have also added an "Add package booking +" button under Reservations > Groups. Previously, it was only possible to add regular bookings here, but now you can easily add packages to any group booking. You can choose to cancel several or all packages in a group booking when necessary.

You now also have the ability to manually cancel an existing invoice, with all charges being redirected to the payer's balance. You can generate a new, revised invoice manually, providing greater control over your billing process.

4. New actions added in the Reservations module

We have rolled out some fresh functions for the Reservations.

We have introduced an "Add Package Booking" button in the Reservation tab, which comes packed with two options: Add package booking, and Add package group. This gives you the ability to add either single or group bookings associated with your deals or packages.

In addition to that, the option to add single and group package bookings has also been added under the Groups tab, enhancing your reservation management benefits.

5. Minor fixes and visual improvements

  • ● The active menu item will now stay within the user's visible area.
  • ● Visual improvements for the Reservation Settings page (fonts, margins, icons, styling).
  • ● The "Front Desk/Reservations" has been renamed to "Custom colors for Reservation statuses" for improved clarity.
