Booking Engine updates
1. Adyen card tokenization for secure guest charges
Now, when guests make a reservation and choose to pay by card on our Booking Engine, their card details are securely tokenized with Adyen. This means that after the first transaction, the guest's card information is encrypted and securely stored within our system, linked to the guest's profile.
Hoteliers can now seamlessly charge guests for services and reservations in the future without the hassle of requesting card details each time. It's a convenient, secure, and efficient way to streamline payment processes for guests and hoteliers.
Guest Facing updates
HotelFriend's Guest Facing solution is a software for kiosks and self-check-in tablets that enables guests to seamlessly book rooms, place orders, and complete check-in or check-out procedures—all without the need for assistance from front desk staff.
Hoteliers are granted the flexibility to customize their devices by selecting which modules to display on the kiosk. From Service Ordering and Room Booking to Explore Hotel Amenities and Extend Stay options, our solution ensures that guests have everything they need right at their fingertips.
1. Let guests log in and view the history of bookings in My Trips
In this update, we’ve added the ability for guests to log in and view their booking history in My Trips directly from the kiosk.
Guests can easily access their account by logging in with their Booking Engine credentials, allowing them to conveniently review past bookings and upcoming reservations. This feature grants your guests greater control over their stays.
2. Enable self-service with Self-Checkout and Extend Stay modules
We're expanding the functionality of the Guest Facing solution with the addition of two modules, such as Self-Checkout and Extend Stay.
Within these modules, guests can effortlessly settle their bills and extend their stays directly from the kiosk. Hoteliers have the option to enable or disable these modules, ensuring a tailored experience that corresponds with the approach of their business.
3. Allow guests to settle their bills via the Adyen terminal
To further enhance the convenience of self-checkout, we've integrated the Adyen terminal, allowing guests to pay for their reservations and additional services using this widely trusted payment platform.
Whether it's settling room charges or covering expenses incurred during their stay, guests can now enjoy a hassle-free payment experience just akin to the front desk.
4. Quick login to the guest account and kiosk modules via PIN or the Room card
Your guests now have the flexibility to log in using either a unique PIN code provided in their reservation confirmation or by touching the card reader with their physical room card (for My Trips only).
This ensures that guests can quickly access the features they need, from viewing their booking history to placing orders easily and conveniently.
5. Provide “Document photo” or “Passport scanner” options during self-check-in
Introducing two convenient features to our self-check-in process: "Document photo" and "Passport scanner." These options allow guests to swiftly provide necessary documentation, such as identification or passport information, during the check-in process.
By simply snapping a photo of their documents or scanning their passport using the integrated scanner device, guests can expedite the check-in process and get settled into their accommodations more quickly.
6. Comprehensive room views in the Room Booking section
We're enhancing the Room Booking module with comprehensive room views, which allow you to display detailed or short descriptions about each unit.
When selecting dates for their stay, guests can explore all available room types, complete with descriptions and pricing information. With customizable viewing options, your guests can easily find the perfect accommodations to suit their preferences and needs, ensuring a seamless booking process from start to finish.
7. Language and currency change modal windows
To cater to our diverse global audience, we're introducing language and currency modal windows to the Guest Facing system.
Guests can now select their preferred language (English or German) and currency, ensuring that all information displayed on the kiosk is accessible and relevant to their needs. This can help you to provide a personalized and inclusive stay for every guest.
8. Minor fixes and visual improvements:

- ● Refined layout for Service Ordering and other pages in Guest Facing, enhancing user experience.
- ● Added error modal layout for seamless troubleshooting in case of card dispenser or card reader issues.
