Guest Facing v. 3.18.0: More robust search on Booking Engine and better UX for Kiosk

We're excited to introduce the latest updates for our guest-facing features, including enhanced Terms and Conditions on the Booking Engine, an improved Success page now featuring a PIN code for self-check-in on Kiosk, and card tokenization for secure payments with Adyen Checkout.

What’s new for hoteliers?

1. Improve the functionality of the search for services on the Booking Engine

We've upgraded the search feature in the Booking Engine, making it easier to find services. Now, as you type in keywords, relevant services will automatically populate in the search results, streamlining the booking process for guests.

2. Enable or disable the Room Request feature in the Kiosk

We’ve introduced a new “Send Booking Request” feature to the Rooms section in the HotelFriend Kiosk. Additionally, a “Show Room Request” toggle has been added under Guest Facing > Devices > Room Booking, giving you the flexibility to enable or disable this feature as needed.

When guests create a booking request, they can select the dates, number of guests, and room type, and fill in their details just as they would on the Booking Engine.

3. Added a modal window with Terms and Conditions on the Booking Engine

A new modal window for Terms and Conditions has been added to the Booking Engine. You can manage these by navigating to Settings > General > Terms and Conditions in the HotelFriend system. Guests will see a link to the Terms and Conditions on the Shopping Cart page, conveniently located next to the checkout button.

4. Improvements in the "Success" page on the basket of the Kiosk

We’ve enhanced the Success page on the kiosk by displaying the PIN code related to booking. This PIN code, displayed immediately after a guest completes a reservation and confirms payment, can be used for self-check-in, providing a seamless guest experience.

5. Tokenization of cards during prepayment with Adyen Checkout

With Adyen Checkout, we now offer improved card tokenization for future payments. After selecting dates, choosing a room with prepayment, and completing the reservation details, guests will see a checkbox on the Adyen checkout form. This checkbox informs them that their card will be securely stored for future transactions by the hotel, simplifying the payment process.

6. Minor fixes and visual improvements

  • ● Resolved text color issues with the Primary Policy on the checkout page in dark theme mode.
  • ● Fixed layout issues with date selection in the kiosk’s calendar.
  • ● Corrected a login issue via card on the kiosk.
