What’s new for hoteliers?

1. Connect and manage major door lock brands with Seam API

We’re excited to introduce a Seam door lock integration that connects your Assa Abloy Visionline and Salto Space locks with the HotelFriend PMS. This initial release focuses on card encoding, with support for PIN codes and mobile access planned for future updates.

What makes Seam stand out is its standalone dashboard, which allows hoteliers to manage all door locks from one central place. Seam already supports over 20 popular door lock providers, and we’ll continue expanding this list in future HotelFriend releases to give you even more flexibility.

2. Customize your Front Desk calendar to fit your daily operations

The Front Desk calendar is now more customizable and easier to adapt to the way your team works.

You can decide where the “current day” is displayed (center, left, or right), adjust the zoom level to view more or fewer days at once, and select exactly which reservation details should appear in the grid. Options include guest or company name, booking number, balance, number of guests, or stay duration.

3. Improved guest communication with calendar attachments and clearer emails

We’ve improved the way you communicate with guests and made confirmation emails more functional and clear. It’s now possible to attach a calendar file to Booking Confirmation emails, enabling guests to save their reservation details directly to their personal calendars. This feature can be activated in the Communications module by switching on the “Include calendar event” toggle.

Additionally, we’ve improved the layout of cancellation policies in confirmation emails. Each policy now begins on a new line, which makes the information much easier to read and understand, ensuring guests have a clear overview of your terms.

4. View all notes in one centralized place

In this update, we’re rolling out the first version of our new Notes system, which will gradually unify notes across the platform. A new interface for Reservation Notes has been introduced, along with a dedicated Notes tab in the Tasks menu for users with the appropriate permissions.

This tab gives a central overview of all notes left in reservation cards and includes powerful search and filter options by date, text, creator, or source. Adding and editing notes is now simpler with a new modal, and all notes are automatically included in reports. Over time, this functionality will be extended to other modules such as Guests, Front Desk, and Orders.

5. Refined Booking Engine features for better user experience

A series of enhancements to the Booking Engine now make it more accurate, flexible, and user-friendly. Pricing information is displayed more reliably, and package services are processed more intelligently, ensuring guests always see the right options for their selected dates.

In Booking Engine Pro, it’s now possible to switch between vertical and horizontal calendar layouts, upload a custom background image for a more branded look, and use a redesigned website creation flow with clearer screens and a more structured setup.

6. New event, revenue, AI, and door lock integrations now available

A variety of new integrations is now available, giving you more ways to streamline operations, enhance guest experiences, and connect your favorite tools with the HotelFriend PMS.

7. General platform improvements

  • ● Removed the feature flag for “Language from BE&GF,” allowing language setup directly in the HotelFriend system.
  • ● Changed “Add to Invoice” to “Will be added to invoice” for better clarity.
  • ● Added sorting by Housekeeping Status to reduce clicks for staff.
  • ● Improved invoice readability for hotels using Fiskaly TSE by adding space between prepayment notes and TSE details.
