Belgium's Worriken Sports and Leisure Park Partners with HotelFriend to Power Its Digital Future

August, 2025, Bütgenbach, Belgium — Worriken Sports and Leisure Park, a 26-hectare holiday and sports complex on the shores of Lake Bütgenbach, has entered into a partnership with HotelFriend to build a connected digital platform spanning hospitality, events, and financial compliance across its resort.

Combining a holiday village, a sports complex used by schools, event venues, restaurants, and a campsite, Worriken welcomes roughly 70,000 to 80,000 overnight guests a year. The park is undergoing a €50 million infrastructure renewal, and its management is looking to modernize its operating systems in step with its physical transformation.

Worriken has selected the HotelFriend Signature, a platform built for properties that need more than a standard PMS. Together, the two organizations will focus on bringing Worriken's departments — accommodation, catering, events, transport, reception, and finance— onto one connected system. Planned work includes a PMS, a central Event Management System to replace manual function sheets and department task lists, compliance infrastructure connecting to Belgium's SAP-based government reporting and fiscalization requirements.

Behind the scenes, Worriken will benefit from a PMS with a natively integrated HotelFriend Booking Engine and Channel Manager, enabling streamlined online distribution and optimized occupancy across multiple sales channels. Financial operations will be strengthened through a fully integrated accounting module, supported by automated payments and instant invoicing.

The platform will also include a Lightspeed POS integration, linking Worriken’s two restaurants, Mercator and Marco Polo, directly to guest accounts, as well as a custom reporting module that allows staff to generate flexible, tailored reports. To further enhance the guest experience and reduce front desk workload, a self-check-in kiosk will be introduced as part of the digital infrastructure.

Rollout will include department-specific onboarding workshops and on-site visits, covering reception, catering, event planning, and finance. This will be backed by ongoing Premium Support with a dedicated support manager.
